JIBC General Student Bursary
Description
The Justice Institute of BC recognizes the personal and financial commitment students make to pursue their educational goals. The JIBC bursary program, supported by the JIBC Foundation, provides financial assistance to applicants who primarily demonstrate unmet financial need during their period of study. Bursaries are intended to offset the costs of tuition, mandatory fees, books, supplies, etc. For additional information about the JIBC general student bursary please see FAQs.
Value
The JIBC general student bursary is offered in denominations
of $1,000, $1,500, and $2,000. Bursary amounts awarded will normally not exceed 60% of tuition for a student’s
program of study.
Who Should Apply
To apply for the JIBC general student bursary, applicants are encouraged to meet the bursary deadline closest to the start of their program or while attending classes. Applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected person
- Applicants may apply for a JIBC general student bursary pending acceptance into a JIBC program
- Applicants must be eligible for and/or enrolled in a full or part-time JIBC program worth a total minimum of ten credits
- Applicants must demonstrate financial need not met by other available sources of funding including student loans, grants, sponsorship, work income etc.
- Applicants must document financial need by completing the JIBC general student bursary application form and signing the declaration. Supporting documentation may be requested to verify information contained in the application form

Annually there are three application deadlines:
March 15
July 15
November 15
