Academic Advising
The Registration Services Advisor at the JIBC is available to assist
you with various aspects of your academic career - from the initial
application for admission, to program selection and course planning,
transferability of courses and financial aid. You might also find helpful information at www.educationplanner.bc.ca.
Appointments
Individual appointments with the Registration Services Advisor are
available if you require assistance with course and program planning.
These appointments must be booked in advance. Appointments can be
in person (New Westminster campus only) or over the phone. Appointments
may be booked by phoning 604.528.5588 (Vancouver area) or 1.877.528.5591 tollfree
(North America only).
If you have a "quick question" for the Registration Services
Advisor, stop by the Registration Office in New Westminster or send
an e-mail to studentservices@jibc.ca.
Information Sessions
Prospective students are encouraged to attend a free information
session about their program before making an appointment with the
Registration Services Advisor.
Questions?
The Registration Services Advisor can answer your academic questions
on issues including:
- Application procedures, if applicable.
- Admission requirements.
- Tuition fee information.
- Transfer credit information.
- General course and program planning information.
- Information on credentials such as certificates, diplomas, or
degrees.
- How you might upgrade your skills in order to meet the admission
requirements for a program.
- Information about transferring to university and appropriate
course selection at the JIBC in order to transfer to your desired
faculty and department.
- To which university or university college your credentials will
transfer.
