behalf of the Sheriff Academy, I welcome you to our website.
The Sheriff Academy is one of the founding members of the Justice
Institute of British Columbia. Our primary mandate is to develop
and deliver training for Court Services
sheriffs, court clerks and court administrators in the province
of B.C. Our recruit and advanced
level courses for B.C. Sheriff Servicesare recognized nationally
and have helped us to build a reputation as a leader in the field
of security and threat management training. Through our Threat
Management Centre of Excellence we offer specialized training
in high security trial management, protective intelligence and risk
and threat assessment for individuals and facilities. [read

News: Revised Course Information
Managing Targeted Violence (TM171)
This course prepares candidates to identify and assess persons
of violent intent. Through a series of actual case examples, participants
develop skills assessing and managing threats of intended violence.
Infrastructure Vulnerability Assessment (TM174)
This course is designed to educate the candidates on how to conduct
vulnerability assessments of critical infrastructures in order to
eliminate, minimize or mitigate risks. The candidate will be performing
an assessment of a selected site and will be evaluated on his/her
assessment.
