From static patrol, mobile and foot patrol to major event security or uniformed or covert guard duties. The industry is limitless and expanding each and every day.
Role in the Community
You provide an integral link in your community between police, emergency responders, the client, the community and other security providers. You will bridge the gap between public and private security.
A Typical Day
There is no typical day in the security industry. You may find yourself in different environments, working different hours for different clients each day. Many security companies specialize in areas such as healthcare, event security, retail and property/customer protection.
Qualifciations/Academic Requirements
Under the Security Services Act, individuals working in the security industry are responsible to obtain and hold a security worker licence in addition, security guards are required to complete mandatory training prior to eligibility for licensing.
