ISO (9001) certification
For JIBC students locally, nationally and internationally, the “ISO
Certified” designation provides the assurance of an educational
experience that is learner-centred, quality driven and committed
to continuous improvement. The JIBC’s ISO certification and
its commitment to Continuous Quality Improvement ensure the delivery
of high quality programs that help drive the success of our students
and clients.
2006 Leadership in Technology Award
The Justice Institute of BC’s Virtual JIBC Committee was recognized
for its efforts to define and implement JIBC’s strategic educational
technology plans by the B.C.’s Educational Technology Users
Group. The JIBC team was recognized for demonstrated leadership
in bringing diverse educational technologies together under one
umbrella to allow a more effective, collaborative approach to using
them. The results of this initiative have been significant, including
an increase in online enrollments to 6,000 in 2005.
2005 BC Export Award
Finalist in the Professional and Services category, which includes
companies and organizations that provide expert advice, technical
support or educational programs to international customers.
Crime Prevention & Community Safety Award
In recognition of her significant contribution to crime prevention
in BC over the previous 30 years, Shelley Rivkin, JIBC Director,
Centre for Leadership and Community Learning, was honoured with an
Individual Award for Crime Prevention and Community Safety in 2005.
Team Canada takes 1st Place at Rejviz
JIBC Paramedic Academy graduates and Advanced Life Support Paramedics,
Andy Fletcher, John Richmond and Rene Bernklau took top honours
at the 2005 Rejviz Rally, an International Integrated Rescue Medical
Competition, held annually in the Jesenik Mountains, Czech Republic.
This year participants included Canada, the US, Israel, Greece,
Austria, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Japan, Poland,
and the Netherlands.
